Located "far up the Strip", this "Egyptian-themed" establishment is "arguably one of Vegas' most impressive hotels", with "slanted-wall rooms" (in the pyramid section), "funky diagonally inclined elevators architecturally" and a "light that shines from the top" at night; alas, all the other amenities are "rather average" (except for the "impressive spa") and service is "nothing special", so most say it's "amusing for a one-night stay" only, unless you're traveling en famille (pricewise, it's a "pretty good deal").

It was filthy, stinky, and had horrible customer service.

This is not a 4 star hotel. My other employees stayed in the Westin Casuarina, which is also listed as a 4 star hotel and it was much nicer. The Luxor was filthy, and disgusting with no customer service. We had to go elsewhere to eat, gamble, swim. It was too filthy at the Luxor. ...read more

Convenient to Mandalay bay and had a good nightclub in LAX.
The room was very updated and very standard. Same with some of the conditions around the hotel.

Nothing.
Smoky, Dirty. Had to upgrade to tolerate being there because we couldn't change hotels.

The Tower rooms are much better but much more expensive. Don't expect to feel good if you stay in the pyramid. Thew only good thing was the Bodies exhibit.

Spa suite wonderful, tram to Mandalay Bay handy, toiletries nice!!
Stains on carpet in room, sink broken, room not spotless.

Spacious Spa Suite, wonderful jetted tub!! Most of staff was friendly, lots of eating options, food court is affordable, great Mexican restaurant. Drinks are $7 if not gambling. Carrot Top show best I've seen in Vegas, military and federal employees get tix at half off. ...read more

Run down room and lack of room service.

I would say this is not even close to a four star hotel.

Location.
Room had poor lighting and stains on curtains and walls.

Overall not a great experience.
I expected more customer service from a 4 start hotel and the price. When we called down for service very long wait each time. Front desk not helpful when we were locked out of room at 04:00. ...read more

The staff was fully accommodating. I think they know Luxor is terrible.
Filthy rooms that were not updated, modern or pleasant.

I stayed at Luxor against my better judgment. They've advertised recent renovations and a friend of mine stayed there recently and said it was not terrible. Our first room had pink go on the ceiling and the shower, stained towels, dirty walls and creaky beds. The second room was marginally better, but I was not happy to find stained sheets when trying to go to bed at 4 AM. On the positive side, the staff was happy to immediately offer us a new room and housekeeping every time I asked. ...read more
